mixtvision's co-production feature film JACK is going to be screened twice at CPH PIX film festival in Copenhagen. JACK runs in the audience competition "Politikens publikumspris".


In February director Thomas Sieben presents his film STAUDAMM/THE DAM on February 21st in the Studiokino Magdeburg and on February 23rd in the Cinema Münster. He will also be answering questions oft he audience in a discussion following the screening. On February 27th STAUDAMM/THE DAM will be celebrating it´s opening night in Hamburg. Besides Thomas Sieben, the script writer Christian Lyra and the two main casts Friedrich Mücke and Liv Lisa Fries will be attending the event.

With the co-production JACK (directed by Edward Berger) that opened up the competition of this years Berlinale, as well as the award-winning and highly praised film STAUDAMM/THE DAM (directed by Thomas Sieben) in the cinemas, the media corporation mixtvision has a high media presence right at the beginning of the year!

After the start of Staudamm/The Dam in the german cinemas on January 30, 2014 a special event took place in Winnenden on Febuary 1, 2014. The Aktionsbündnis Amoklauf Winnenden participated in this event.

The Aktionsbündnis Amoklauf supports the film significantly. Both chairpersons, Gisela Mayer and Hardy Schober found touching words. The event was hosted by the VBE Baden-Württemberg.

Thomas Sieben´s praised film Staudamm/The Dam that gives attention to the aftermath of a school rampage celebrates it´s start in the german cinemas in cooperation with the Bayrischen Lehrerinnen- und Lehrerverband BLLV in the cinema Monopol in Munich.

We are excited and proud to highlight the positive remarks in the press, concerning the film Staudamm/The Dam (Distribution by mixtvision) and the two main actors Friedrich Mücke and Liv Lisa Fries. The latter was just awarded the Max-Ophüls-Award for the best young actess for the film "Und morgen mittag bin ich tot".


The preview of Staudamm/The Dam in Erfurt was a great success! The screening was organized together with the Thüringer Lehrerverband and turned out to be touching and unforgettable event for both audience and those involved in the making of the film.


Liv Lisa Fries was recently awarded the Bavarian Film Award for the film "Und morgen mittag bin ich tot" as the best young actress.

In the film Staudamm/The Dam, that will be on screen in german cineams starting on January 30, 2014, she can be seen in the role of a girl that witnessed a school rampage.

Staudamm / The Dam wins the Prize for Best Youth Film in the "U18 German-Polish Youth Film Competition" at the FilmFestival Cottbus.


Staudamm will be shown twice at this years Biberacher Filmfestspiele: The screenings will be on Wednesday, October 30, 2013, 6 pm and on Thursday, October 31, 2013, 8.30 pm at the "Kino VENUS" / Biberacher Traumpalast. 


Staudamm/The Dam is shown as part of the independant series of the 20th International Filmfestival in Oldenburg (11.-15.09.2013). With Friedrich Mücke and Liv Lisa Fries as main actors, the film stages a gun rampage at a school in a remarkable way.

Mixtvision film is distributing the film Staudamm/The Dam, produced by Milk Film. At the end of January 2014 mixtvison Film will be bringing the film to the german cinemas. Staudamm/The Dam was presented at the Max-Ophüls- Festival and other events.

On April 18, Thalia Kino Babelsberg in Potsdam is going to screen the short movie Seven Years of Winter, co-produced by mixtvision, as part of the "My Europe" film festival. Marcus Schwenzel, director of "Seven Years of Winter", will attend the screening.

Our documentary Goodnight Nobody is going to be aired on SF 1 on April 11 at 0.10 a.m. - so stay up and tune in!


Short film Seven Years of Winter is nominated in the "Shortcuts" category at Tofifest Film Festival in Torun (Polen). The screening is on October 23., 2012, at 20.30.


On October 14th 2012,  Thalia Kino in Potsdam will show a special screening of the films  "Seven Years of Winter", co-produced by mixtvision, and "Unter Kontrolle". Both Marcus Schwenzel, director of "Seven Years of Winter", and actor Hannes Jaenicke will attend the screening and talk about the film.


The shooting of the pilot for a new culture show is finished. In post production, the raw material will now be thoroughly 'mashed'. We are looking forward to the final version of the show hosted by Loretta Stern.


The shooting of the pilot for a new kids show is finished and now the funny 'Leseratte' with the pink hair needs to go into post production. Annette Frier, the whole crew and of course host Ernesto himself had lots of fun on set.

After the live performances of Beyond this Place’s original score by Sufjan Stevens and Ray Raposa in New York, the tour ended successfully: The two musicians' performaces were sold out in Portland, San Francisco and Los Angeles.

With the French title Cloud Rock, mon père the award-winning documentary by director Kaleo La Belle about his Hippie father Cloud Rock premiered in Paris this past week. The director and his father Cloud Rock, the film’s protagonist, were both present at the premier at the Reflet Médicis movie theater in Paris.

The short film Seven Years of Winter by director Marcus Schwenzel receives the Prize in the category Best West-Danish Film at the 22. Nordisk Panorama Film Festival in Aarhus. The film was co-produced by mixtvision.

On October 30th 2011 Beyond this Place is shown at the Brooklyn Academy of Music in New York City. The two musicians Raymond Raposa and Sufjan Stevens who are responsible for the documentary’s soundtrack will provide a live score of the soundtrack.

This year’s Documentary Film Award of the Fünf-Seen-Filmfestival goes to Goodnight Nobody by director Jacqueline Zünd. The film is another coproduction of mixtvision Film & TV and the Swiss production company Docmine.

The short film Seven Years of Winter has been selected for the competition of the 22nd Nordisk Panorama – 5 Cities Film Festival in Denmark. On September 24th and 25th it will compete with 13 other films in the category “Best Talentfilm 2011”.
 


On August 3rd, the two award-winning documentaries Beyond this Place and Goodnight Nobody will be shown at the Fünf-Seen-Filmfestival. For the fifth time the festival presents international films at different locations of the Fünfseenland (Five-Lakes-Shire) in southern Bavaria (27.07.-06.08.2011).

On May 19th mixtvision and Docmine present Goodnight Nobody at the Cannes Film Festival. The award-winning documentary, directed by Jacqueline Zünd, will be shown within the accompanying programme ACID which promotes the worldwide distribution of documentary films of high artistic value.

The production companies mixtvision and Docmine will be represented by their successfull coproduction Beyond this place at the DOK.fest Munich this time. The Isar metropolis in the first week of May traditionally is marked by the sophisticated documentary film (May 4 to 11, 2011).

In co-operation with mixtvision Marcus Schwenzel directed the short film Seven Years of Winter in Kiev, in the area of the Chernobyl disaster. In the run-up, the sensitively composed screenplay already has been awarded several prizes at internationally renowned film festivals. The film premieres in Berlin April 19, 2011.

At the 33rd Festival international de Films de Femmes in Créteil (march 25 to april 3, 2011), Goodnight Nobody was awarded best documentary. The film by Jacqueline Zünd received the Anna Politkovskaïa Prize, totalling 1.500 euros.

Film director Jacqueline Zünd was awarded the Jury Prize at the Sebastopol Documentary Film Festival. This is the fourth award for her moving film Goodnight Nobody, which is still playing in Swiss cinemas and at international festivals.

The documentary Goodnight Nobody was awarded the Swiss Film Award "Quartz" for best film music. Composer Marcel Vaid was honored for succeeding in denoting the artistic approach of the film also on the musical level.

At the beginning of the year, the "Bayerischer Rundfunk" (Bavarian Broadcasting) starts the satirical program "Klugsch-Eisser Co.KG" with cabaret artist Bruno Jonas. mixvision has been in charge of the setdesign, the directorial concept as well as the graphic package.

On December 9, 2010 Kaleo La Belle´s multiple award-winning film reaches the cinemas in Switzerland. In Beyond this place, the young director succeeds to present a very personal screen debut facing his own past. „Gut zu Wissen“, the charity gala in favor of the Welthungerhilfe (German Agro Action), was very successful again in its latest installment (24.11.2010, 20.15). mixtvision developed the concept in cooperation with Spiegel TV infotainment and also oversaw the editing.

Within the annual award ceremony of the "Zürcher Filmpreise" the documentary film Goodnight Nobody is honored by the City of Zurich. Director Jacqueline Zünd and production companies mixtvision/Docmine receive one of Switzerland’s most highly paid film prizes for their successful co-production.

After several awards at festivals abroad, Goodnight Nobody is happy about a success at one of the most important documentary festivals in Germany. The film by Jacqueline Zünd has been awarded an honorable mention in the category „International Competition documentary film“ at the DOK Leipzig.

After having been awarded the „Prix Création“ at its premiere at the festival „Visions du Réel“ in Nyon, Beyond this Place was screened at the „Hot Docs“ in Toronto in May. In June, the film was shown at the 50th anniversary festival Krakow and was awarded the „Golden Horn“ as best documentary film.

Mixtvision Film & TV looks back on a successful year 2009. Outstanding was the success at the Books & Bytes Award. 13 new, innovative projects were on the shortlist and www.pikcha.tv was chosen as the most innovative online book project at the Frankfurt Bookfair.

The eighth episode of the knowledge show "How smart is Germany?" was once again rated one of the most popular programmes on a wednesday evening. Strong rates of 4,25 million viewers and a market share of 14,8% cared for the fact that the popular show with Johannes B. Kerner was ranking amongst the favoured channels.


Today it’s official: mixtvision Film and the Swiss production company DOCMINE will from now on join forces in the documentary field.
